Tourism Revitalization through Attracting Tourists
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is taking steps to strengthen the competitiveness of its tourism industry, including attracting tourists.
According to Sancheong-gun on the 24th, incentives will be provided to travel agencies that attract group tourists.
This support has been prepared to promote regional tourism revitalization by increasing the number of tourists. The support target is travel agencies registered under the 'Tourism Promotion Act.' They must attract at least 10 domestic tourists or 5 foreign tourists and use designated tourist attractions, restaurants, and accommodations within the region.
For day trips, support ranges from 5,000 to 10,000 KRW per person; for overnight trips, 10,000 to 20,000 KRW per person per night; and for two-night trips, 20,000 to 30,000 KRW per person. In addition to the per-person support amount, bus rental fees are also supported if certain conditions are met.
Furthermore, to promote mutual regional development between Sancheong-gun and Jinju City and enhance the effect of tourism revitalization, a Sancheong-Jinju linked incentive is also provided. The support compensation is paid after review if a prior plan is submitted at least three days before the trip and an application is submitted within 30 days after the trip ends.
The incentive support plan and various forms can be found on the Sancheong-gun website under the ‘Government News - Announcements’ section.
A county official stated, “This travel agency incentive support will enhance the competitiveness of the tourism industry and contribute to regional tourism revitalization by attracting domestic and international tourists.”
