Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, attended the opening ceremony of the ‘Yeongdeungpo District Eoullim Center’ on the morning of the 23rd and reviewed the programs operated at the ‘Yeongdeungpo Saenggak Factory Library’.
Mayor Choi also engaged in discussions regarding the operational status with the head of the Yeongdeungpo District Disabled Family Support Center during the ceremony.
The opening ceremony was held with about 50 attendees including residents, users, and guardians, and proceeded with a progress report, unveiling ceremony, and a tour.
The ‘Yeongdeungpo District Eoullim Center’ comprises a lifelong education center for people with developmental disabilities, a disabled family support center, and the Yeongdeungpo Saenggak Factory Library. It operates facilities and programs aimed at enhancing welfare and culture for residents including people with disabilities, such as ▲ lifelong education for people with developmental disabilities ▲ counseling and case management for the disabled ▲ emergency care ▲ reading and cultural spaces ▲ experiential science programs.
Mayor Choi Ho-kwon stated, “I hope the Yeongdeungpo District Eoullim Center becomes a space where people with and without disabilities can together nurture hope for the future, break down barriers, and communicate and harmonize with each other.”

Mapo District (Mayor Park Gang-su) attended the graduation ceremony of Ilseong Girls’ Middle and High School held at the Mac Auditorium of Mapo Art Center on the morning of the 23rd.
The event was attended by Mayor Park Gang-su, Principal Lee Seon-jae of Ilseong Girls’ Middle and High School, 501 graduates, and their families, and proceeded with congratulatory speeches, celebratory songs, and commendations for exemplary students by the mayor.
Ilseong Girls’ Middle and High School is a two-year accredited lifelong school where women who could not complete their studies on time for various reasons study middle and high school courses.

The mayor’s commendations for exemplary students were awarded to Yu Young-soon (62), a third-year student at Ilseong Girls’ Middle School, and Yang Myung-soon (60), a third-year student at Ilseong Girls’ High School.

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the ‘Sangsang Irum Center Remodeling Opening Ceremony’ held at 3 p.m. on the 23rd on the 4th floor of the new building of KT Nowon Branch (502 Nohae-ro).
The Sangsang Irum Center is a youth career and job experience space that has been undergoing remodeling since last year to enhance digital media capabilities and support career exploration in response to this.
The space, previously focused on classrooms with a total area of 672.13㎡, has been reconfigured into various spaces including a youth hangout, digital studio, creation room, shared kitchen, and terrace.
The district plans to operate programs allowing youth to experience jobs in new industries such as metaverse architects and media art planners.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Oh Seung-rok, members of the National Assembly, city and district council members, youth facility officials, local youth, and residents, and proceeded with guest introductions, progress reports, greetings, congratulatory speeches, award presentations, celebratory performances, ribbon-cutting, commemorative photos, and a tour.

Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo District, visited the ‘Gangseo District Family Center’ at 2 p.m. on the 23rd to carefully inspect the internal facilities and check if residents face any inconveniences when using the facility.
On this day, Mayor Kim first visited the ‘Shared Childcare Sharing Space,’ where children and parents spend the most time participating in play and educational programs together.
Mayor Kim checked the status of educational toys and toys used by children, as well as the overall operation of child care cooperatives where parents care for children together.
He also visited the site where a Vietnamese spring roll making experience was underway and took care of children from multicultural families participating in the program.
Additionally, he inspected the bulletin board to ensure users can easily see information about educational programs at a glance and toured every corner of the center including the multipurpose room and program room.

The 56th Infantry Division, under the Capital Defense Command which oversees Seongbuk District, was selected as the ‘2022 Excellent Unit for Establishing Integrated Defense Posture’ and received the Presidential Citation. In recognition of the district office’s active cooperation and support, the division presented a plaque of appreciation to Seongbuk District.
Mayor Lee Seung-ro of Seongbuk District said, “Whenever the nation faces difficulties, the military’s cooperation and support, such as operating COVID-19 screening clinics, have been a great help. We are well aware that residents can live without worries about national security thanks to the efforts of military units including the 56th Infantry Division,” adding, “We will spare no support and cooperation for the military units responsible for the safety of our residents.”
