Establishing Rapid Response Posture Against 'Drone Terror' and 'Cyber Attacks'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency (Chief Choi Juwon) conducted a 'counter-terrorism joint exercise' with eight organizations including the 50th Division, Uljin County Office, and Uljin Fire Station to respond to new threats such as 'drone terrorism' at Hanul Nuclear Power Plant.

Gyeongbuk Police Agency Conducts Joint Anti-Terrorism Exercise with Related Agencies at Uljin Hanul Nuclear Power Plant Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency conducted a 'Counter-Terrorism Joint Exercise' to prepare for security threat factors, together with eight organizations including the Police Special Forces, Police Aviation Unit, 50th Division, Uljin County Office, and Uljin Fire Station.

This exercise proceeded in the order of scenarios involving attacks with hazardous materials using drones, search and capture of terrorists, and detection and removal of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear hazardous materials.

Counter-terrorism core units from each participating organization, including the Police Special Forces and Police Aviation Unit, participated and conducted the exercise intensively as if in a real situation.


Choi Juwon, Chief of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency, stated, “As the domestic general counter-terrorism agency, we will continuously carry out training to prepare for new security threats such as ‘drone terrorism’ and ‘cyber attacks’ and fulfill our mission to protect the safety of Gyeongbuk residents.”
