Famous animation 'Astro Boy' protagonist Atom's god-like boots are becoming a hot topic on social networking services (SNS), CNN and other foreign media reported on the 23rd (local time).

The large red boots launched by New York art collective MSCHF on the 16th have been attracting attention on SNS platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, and even appeared at New York Fashion Week.

Fashion influencers rushed to post photos of the boots on SNS. As a result, the boots, originally priced at $350 (450,000 KRW), sold out within minutes of their release, and the resale price has also soared. Currently, the resale price is trading as high as $1,331 (about 1.64 million KRW).

MSCHF introduced them as "cool cartoon boots for the 3D world," explaining that they were inspired by the boots worn by the talking monkey character in the American TV cartoon series 'Dora the Explorer.' However, many domestic and international netizens say they are reminded of 'Astro Boy (Atom)' and affectionately call them 'Atom boots.'

However, CNN's evaluation is not positive. They commented on the boots, saying, "If you get kicked by those boots once, you'll fly away," and "Fashion has entered a silly era with these red boots."

Meanwhile, on TikTok, videos styling the 'Big Red Boots' are actively shared. Along with this, videos showing people struggling to take off the 'Big Red Boots' are also gaining attention online.
