This agreement is the first case of cooperation in the Jeju region where both central and local government tourism and aviation policy execution agencies gathered to collaborate jointly.

It was prepared with the shared intention to jointly cooperate for the revitalization of international flights at Jeju International Airport and the expansion of domestic and international tourist attraction, in line with the resumption of international flights at Jeju International Airport after the COVID-19 endemic and the proclamation of the "2023-2024 Visit Korea Year."

The collaboration includes efforts to expand overseas routes at Jeju International Airport, enhance the global brand awareness of Jeju International Airport, promotion, marketing, and promotions to revitalize Jeju tourism, exchange of content and data held by each organization, and continuous discovery of joint cooperation projects for tourism and aviation revitalization. Going forward, strategies to expand the attraction of domestic and international tourists to Jeju will be implemented, enabling the expansion of each organization's projects and joint responses, which is expected to create synergy effects.

Son Jong-ha, Jeju Airport Director of the Corporation, said, "In preparation for the resumption of international flights at Jeju International Airport after the COVID-19 endemic, we are forming a joint response system with related organizations within Jeju Island, and we will do our best to successfully achieve the common goal of expanding the attraction of tourists to Jeju."

He added, "In particular, starting with this business agreement, we plan to hold regular monthly working-level meetings to ensure more effective joint responses. We also expect to create synergy effects for expanding the attraction of overseas tourists through joint promotion by consolidating various systems promoted by each organization, such as airline incentive support programs."
