Jeongeup-si Conducts Intensive Crackdown on Illegal Parking of Commercial Vehicles

[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province announced on the 23rd that it will conduct intensive crackdowns on illegally parked large cargo trucks, passenger vehicles, and construction machinery used for business to ensure pedestrian safety and prevent traffic accidents.

Parking construction machinery and large vehicles near residential areas or on roads can obstruct communication between drivers while driving, potentially causing traffic accidents. As a result, there have been continuous complaints from citizens about overnight parking of large vehicles.

Considering the difficulties caused by COVID-19, the city has focused more on guidance rather than enforcement, but due to ongoing complaints, it has decided to proceed with intensive crackdowns to resolve citizen inconveniences.

The city will have a guidance period from the 12th to the 28th of this month and will conduct full-scale enforcement from the 2nd to the 31st of next month.

For business cargo vehicles parked for more than one hour between midnight and 4 a.m., a first warning notice will be attached.

If the vehicle does not move after one hour, administrative measures such as suspension of operation or fines will be imposed.

A city official stated, “We will continue guidance and enforcement to prevent traffic accidents caused by overnight parking of large vehicles,” and added, “We ask drivers to use designated garages to alleviate citizen inconvenience and actively participate in preventing traffic accidents.”
