4by4, Samsung 4K and Above Smart TVs Equipped with 'KeyCutPlay'... Offering 8K Content

In-House AI Technology Pixel Showcases Overwhelming Performance
Watch Ultra HD 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal' on 4K·8K Samsung Smart TVs

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Visual tech solution company ForByFor is providing the drama 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal,' starring Song Joong-ki, reborn in ultra-high-definition video, through Samsung Smart TV.

ForByFor has been installing its own app 'KEYCUT Play' on all Samsung Smart TVs capable of 4K or higher resolution since September last year. KEYCUT Play comes preloaded with the drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal, enhanced up to 8K quality. Anyone can watch it by downloading the app from the Samsung Smart TV app store.

The drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal, starring actor Song Joong-ki, was a popular series that received explosive responses for its solid storyline and beautiful visuals when it aired in 2010. However, since it is content from 13 years ago, viewers inevitably felt a significant quality gap compared to recent drama videos.

ForByFor judged that through the image quality enhancement work of the drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal, it could showcase its overwhelming technological prowess to a wider audience. The enhancement process was carried out to 8K level, maximizing the unique visual beauty of the historical drama and emphasizing details.

ForByFor CEO Yoon Junho said, "We have released a beta service so that many people can experience the overwhelming performance of our proprietary AI technology Pixell," adding, "You will be able to enjoy Sungkyunkwan Scandal with such vividness that it is hard to believe it is content from 13 years ago." He further stated, "We will not simply provide drama content through the app; we will continuously expand the application areas of technology and industry and broaden our contact points with the public."

'Pixell,' developed by ForByFor, is a deep learning AI image quality enhancement technology that learns from tens of thousands of before-and-after video data to improve noise reduction, contrast adjustment, saturation, and sharpness to a level closest to reality. In particular, it is a technology capable of continuously learning ultra-high-resolution video data of 4K and 8K or higher and converting high-resolution videos into ultra-high-resolution ones.
