Daegu Suseong-gu Mayor Kim Dae-kwon Receives 'Senior Welfare Award'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-seon] Daegu Suseong-gu announced on the 23rd that Kim Dae-gwon, the head of Suseong-gu, received the 2nd ‘Senior Welfare Award’ presented by the Korea Senior Citizens Association in recognition of his dedication to the development of local senior welfare.


The ‘Senior Welfare Award’ is an award given by the Korea Senior Citizens Association (President Kim Ho-il) to organizations or individuals who have contributed to the improvement of senior welfare, and this year marks its second edition.

Kim Dae-gwon, head of Suseong-gu, has expanded support for senior welfare by constructing an annex to the Gosan Senior Welfare Center, operating a senior counseling center, and supporting senior branch activities.


He has also been leading projects to expand park golf facilities, hold Hangung tournaments, and build and remodel senior citizen centers to support healthy leisure activities.


He has been evaluated as having greatly contributed to the improvement of seniors’ welfare by implementing various welfare policy projects such as the customized support project for senior centers, including housekeeper support and group home care projects for senior centers.


Kim, the district head, said, “I am very grateful to receive this meaningful award,” and added, “I will continue to develop various senior welfare policies so that all seniors who have devoted themselves to the nation and the region can enjoy a happy old age.”
