Deliberation and Resolution of Two Agenda Items Including Childcare Project Planning
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 23rd that it held the 1st Hamyang-gun Childcare Policy Committee meeting of 2023 in a small conference room.
On this day, the Hamyang-gun Childcare Policy Committee, composed of 14 members including childcare experts, public interest representatives, daycare center representatives, childcare teacher representatives, parent representatives, and related officials, deliberated and resolved two agenda items: the establishment of the 2023 Hamyang-gun childcare business plan and restrictions on new daycare center approvals.
At the meeting, the committee finalized detailed implementation plans for childcare projects, including expanding childcare support and diversifying childcare services, building childcare infrastructure and improving quality, increasing parental participation, enhancing transparency in daycare center operations, and strengthening management systems.
Additionally, reflecting the difficult circumstances in the childcare field due to the continuous decrease in the number of childcare children caused by low birth rates, the committee decided on a supply and demand plan to restrict new facility approvals and expansions of existing facilities to improve the quality of childcare within the jurisdiction and provide stable childcare services.
A county official stated, “In the crisis of low birth rates and population extinction, childcare issues are important matters that determine our future. We will do our best to create a childcare environment where parents can raise their children with peace of mind.”
