[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] Kwon Nogap, Senior Advisor of the Democratic Party of Korea, commented on the arrest motion against Representative Lee Jae-myung, saying, "I hope that next time, the spirit of putting the party and country first and acting with dignity and confidence when facing the arrest motion will be demonstrated."

At the senior advisors' meeting on the 22nd, Advisor Kwon said, "There will be several more arrest motions (against Representative Lee) coming to the National Assembly, but this time, let's unite and follow the decision made at the party members' meeting," adding, "Next time, as the party leader, I hope you will take the lead with responsible action."

The Democratic Party held a party members' meeting the day before and agreed to reject the arrest motion against Representative Lee. The vote on the arrest motion will take place at the plenary session on the 27th. Advisor Kwon's remarks can be interpreted as hoping that even if the motion is rejected on the 27th, if the prosecution later requests an arrest warrant for Representative Lee again, he will face the warrant review confidently.

Advisor Kwon also expressed sympathy, saying, "As someone who has endured various hardships and trials, I truly feel sorry for the difficulties Representative Lee is currently facing."

Other advisors attending the meeting emphasized party unity. Advisor Lee Hae-chan said, "I am confident that the vote on the arrest motion will be overwhelmingly rejected," adding, "Only by overcoming these challenges can we achieve democratization, economic development, and peace between North and South Korea."

Advisor Kim Won-ki said, "We must unite around the party leader and overcome difficulties," and Advisor Lim Chae-jung also stated, "The Democratic Party should not be shaken by attacks from the government and ruling party, nor is it a party that will easily collapse."

Advisor Lee Yong-deuk encouraged Representative Lee, saying, "Where is the anti-Lee Jae-myung faction? In my view, there is no anti-Lee faction within the Democratic Party," and urged, "Do not give up and stay united."
