[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] SBV Tech is showing strong performance. Until now, Japanese companies have virtually monopolized the global market for 50 years due to technical barriers. It is a market that requires high reliability, making it difficult for new entrants, but SBV Tech has proven its technological capabilities through tests with prospective clients.
As of 1:18 PM on the 22nd, SBV Tech is trading at 48,500 KRW, up 17.43% from the previous day.
Hana Securities analyzed that SBV Tech has reached a level sufficient to replace Japanese precision reducers and has entered a steep growth phase.
Choi Jae-ho, a researcher at Hana Securities, explained, "SBV Tech is a leading domestic company in reducer localization that succeeded in mass production of precision reducers through systematic tooth profile design technology based on differential geometry," adding, "Since the second half of last year, the company has accelerated technological advancement by increasing test volumes with clients."
He continued, "The precision reducer accuracy requirements proposed by Japan’s top robot reducer company H are an angular transmission error of 60 arcsec and torsional stiffness of 1.7 kgfm/arcmin," and analyzed, "SBV Tech’s angular transmission error and torsional stiffness are 20.8 arcsec and 2.8 kgfm/arcmin, respectively, which is sufficient to replace Japanese precision reducers."
Furthermore, he emphasized, "Through the ongoing government competitive R&D project, SBV Tech’s technological capabilities in small-sized reducers, where it has strengths, have been recognized," and "With the growth of the robot market and replacement of Japanese H company reducers, high growth is expected."
Researcher Choi highlighted, "In January, SBV Tech completed expansion to meet the increasing reducer demand from clients," adding, "Through the expansion, reducer production capacity increased from 12,000 units to 52,000 units."
He said, "It is the largest scale among domestic precision reducer manufacturers for robots," and added, "It boasts superior efficiency compared to existing equipment with Swiss Gleason cutting equipment, a global top-tier company." He also emphasized, "It is expected to increase its domestic reducer market share and is currently discussing precision reducer testing and mass production with major domestic collaborative robot companies."
Researcher Choi stated, "Tests are underway to replace existing Japanese H company reducers with reducers for wearable robots and FPD transfer robots of major clients, and to apply reducers to higher trims of swivel seats in global finished vehicles." He analyzed, "Reducer sales are expected to grow more than twice this year with the completion of major client tests and mass production of applied products next year."
He added, "Domestic company A and Chinese company F are conducting tests to replace Japanese H company reducers used in FPD transfer robots with SBV Tech products," and predicted, "Company A operates about 7,000 FPD transfer robots, so if sequential reducer replacement occurs after test completion, stable sales will be secured."
Researcher Lee Choong-heon of Value Finder explained, "SBV Tech’s harmonic reducers currently face a market where demand exceeds supply," adding, "Competitors frequently experienced delivery delays and after-sales service issues."
He added, "SBV Tech is the first domestic company to succeed in mass production of harmonic reducers and has price competitiveness over 40% cheaper than competitors," and "With fast delivery and similar quality to competitors, it will enter a full-fledged growth trajectory."
