Gwangju Buk-gu Selected as an Excellent Institution for Data-Driven Administration

Since 2021, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety has conducted inspections targeting 467 institutions including central government ministries, local governments, and public institutions to improve policies and early establish data-based administration.

This inspection was conducted in four areas: ▲data-based administrative governance ▲shared data registration ▲data analysis and utilization ▲capacity building for utilization, and based on the results, the 467 institutions were evaluated as excellent, average, or insufficient.

Accordingly, Buk-gu was selected as an excellent institution again in 2021 by receiving high scores in promoting data utilization and data-based innovative administration.

In particular, efforts to investigate and discover shared data through department-wide data surveys and expert meetings using the GIS big data platform, as well as registration performance, were recognized as best practices.

Also, analyzing and utilizing data closely related to daily life such as locations of children’s traffic safety facilities and openings and closings of specific business types, and efforts in education to strengthen data utilization capabilities received good evaluations.

Moon In, the head of Buk-gu Office, said, “Last year’s efforts in operating data-based administration, including the construction of the Data Dam, brought good results,” and added, “We will continue to lead data-based administration with scientific analysis and policies that residents can feel.”
