So Su-jin: "Ahn Cheol-soo, 'Lee Jun-seok's proxy' Cheon Ha-ram alliance not possible"

"Cheon Ha-ram is Lee Jun-seok's proxy... Must Show Personal Skills"

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyun-joo] Jo Su-jin, a candidate for the Supreme Council member running in the People Power Party leadership election, commented on the possibility of the 'Cheonan Alliance' (Cheon Ha-ram - Ahn Cheol-soo) in the runoff election for party leader, saying, "Alliances are made based on each person's judgment, but candidate Ahn Cheol-soo should not join hands with candidate Cheon Ha-ram."

On the 22nd, Jo appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and said, "Candidate Ahn has been a prominent presidential candidate in politics for 10 years and is an asset to the People Power Party," adding, "If he forms an alliance with candidate Cheon, who weakens the People Power Party and competes for votes, it will not be good in the long term. We need to look ahead."

She also described candidate Cheon as "a proxy of former leader Lee Jun-seok." Jo criticized, "Candidate Cheon is the proxy of former leader Lee, who is trying to shake the party to its core and still shows no reflection or introspection," and added, "Candidate Cheon may want to strategically deny being Lee's proxy, but who would believe that?"

Furthermore, she pointed out, "Candidate Cheon should demonstrate his own abilities even now," and said, "Elections and politics are not about running as a proxy; it is about being evaluated based on one's own plans and vision."

Jo criticized, "In this leadership election, a former leader who shows no reflection or introspection is backing someone, running campaign vehicles, and, in a way, enjoying the fight." She continued, "It has been less than a year since the president was elected. Those called 'Bi-Yoon' (non-Yoon, non-Yoon Seok-yeol) should protest when the media labels them as Bi-Yoon or Ban-Yoon (anti-Yoon Seok-yeol). However, the fact that they themselves seem to enjoy being called that will make party members think a lot."

Regarding who is more likely to advance to the runoff between candidates Ahn and Cheon, Jo believed it would be candidate Ahn. She said, "Of course, among the two, candidate Ahn will probably advance," but added, "It is difficult to predict whether a runoff will even take place, so it is hard to answer hypothetical questions about hypotheticals. I am also a candidate in this leadership election," withholding further comment.
