Continuous Industry-Academia Cooperation Discussions Including Talent Development and Employment Connection, Joint Promotion of Government/Local Government Support Projects

Chungkang College of Cultural Industries (President Hwang Bong-seong, hereinafter Chungkang College) announced on the 23rd that it has signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement with TwoByte Co., Ltd. (CEO Ham Young-chul, hereinafter TwoByte). Through this agreement ceremony, both parties shared ongoing business and planning projects and promised to actively cooperate for mutual development.
The agreement ceremony held at the main building of Chungkang College located in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do, was attended by Kim Sung-hyun, head of the Industry-Academia Cooperation Group of Chungkang College, Yeom Dong-hyun, dean of the Game Contents School, Professor Shin Su-jin, and other faculty members of the Game Contents School.
On the day, Kim Sung-hyun, head of the Industry-Academia Cooperation Group at Chungkang College, and Ham Young-chul, CEO of TwoByte, signed the agreement for exchange and cooperation between the two companies and shared their intentions for future industry-academia cooperation.
The main contents of the mutual agreement include ▲ cooperation in developing excellent educational content and jointly operating educational programs ▲ collaboration in evaluating graduation projects and mentoring, special lectures, and exhibitions for outstanding works ▲ joint operation of field training to support quality on-site education ▲ cooperation in recruitment through mutual sharing of portfolios (resumes, etc.) of outstanding students ▲ and other industry-academia cooperation activities necessary for both institutions.
After the agreement ceremony, the Game Contents School of Chungkang College introduced TwoByte to Chungkang College’s educational philosophy and the systematic curriculum of the Game Contents School through a campus tour.
Since being selected by the Ministry of Education in 2021 as a “Leading Specialized College in New Industry Fields (Augmented and Virtual Reality sectors),” Chungkang College has been rapidly developing by establishing an education and industry-academia cooperation system to nurture core talents in the next-generation content industry based on AR·VR, and by introducing curricula for training content creators in the metaverse era. Additionally, since 2022, the college has been accelerating efforts to strengthen curricula for nurturing talent in the QA business field.
Yeom Dong-hyun, dean of the Game Contents School at Chungkang College, stated, “TwoByte’s various know-how for improving game quality and diverse experiences in global localization services align well with our school’s long-term goals, making this a very welcome industry-academia cooperation.”
Ham Young-chul, CEO of TwoByte, said, “Combining TwoByte’s diverse global business experience with Chungkang College’s excellent human resources and systematic educational capabilities will create new added value,” and added, “Starting with Chungkang College’s Game School, there will be opportunities to collaborate with various content major schools at Chungkang College in other content businesses currently being prepared by TwoByte.”
Meanwhile, the Game Contents School at Chungkang College specializes in training personnel for game content development and operation through subdivided major curricula in game planning, programming, graphics, and game QA & business. Students form teams composed of members from each major part necessary for game development during their studies and produce various graduation projects ranging from mobile application games to large-scale PC games, receiving favorable reviews from the game industry for its practical education curriculum.
