[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] Law firm Lin (Representative Attorney Im Jinseok) and law firm LKB & Partners (LKB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote integration.
Lin and LKB announced on the 22nd at 10 a.m. in the meeting room of the Seoul Bar Association in Seocho-gu, Seoul, "We are confident that through integration, we can provide high-quality comprehensive legal services in both corporate advisory and litigation areas. Our goal is to officially launch the integrated firm within this year."
They further explained, "After integration, the number of domestic lawyers or revenue is expected to approach the top 10 law firms in Korea, and we aim to become one of the top 5 law firms in the future."
Since last year, both parties have shared a consensus on promoting integration and conducted due diligence on each firm's status and work methods. The main goals of the integrated firm include ▲ services encompassing both litigation and corporate advisory ▲collaboration among members ▲innovative and productive work methods ▲ pioneering the international legal market and new legal markets. In line with the development of new industry sectors, the firm intends to become an advanced digital law firm that can respond most rapidly to legal demands in fields such as artificial intelligence, bio, mobility, and cybersecurity.
Lin has grown rapidly since the appointment of Representative Attorney Im Jinseok, a former Kim & Chang member, at the end of 2017. It currently consists of a group of over 110 experts (domestic lawyers, U.S. lawyers, certified public accountants, and government-affiliated advisors). It stands out in corporate advisory fields such as Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT), intellectual property rights, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), financial regulation, and capital markets.
LKB was established in 2012 by Representative Attorney Lee Gwangbeom. By continuously recruiting lawyers from the judiciary and prosecution, it has established itself as a law firm with expertise in litigation. It is especially highly regarded in the corporate dispute field.
Both sides stated, "While promoting integration, we will share each other's strengths and maximize the synergy of integration so that one plus one becomes more than three." They added, "We will do our best to open another meaningful chapter in the history of domestic law firms through this corporate integration."
