39 Ideas Discovered Including Plans to Revitalize Namdo Food Street

[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) held a forum on the 20th at the county office situation room with the attendance of heads of departments and divisions to revitalize the Muan Beolnakji Street, designated as a Matdonamdo (Delicious South Jeolla Province) by Jeollanam-do.

According to the county on the 21st, the forum explained the progress of the Muan Beolnakji Street Development Project, which has been promoted since 2019, and the 2022 Namdo Food Street Premium Project. It proceeded with reports on ideas discovered by each department, followed by a free discussion and a general evaluation by Governor Kim San.

Looking at the revitalization plans for Matdonamdo Beolnakji Street discovered by each department, the Planning Office proposed 4 ideas including ‘Issuing lottery tickets & coupons for Nakji Street,’ the New Town Support Group proposed 4 ideas including ‘Providing discount benefits linked with tourist attractions,’ and the Future Growth Division proposed 1 idea including ‘Conducting consulting for menu development at Nakji Street restaurants.’ In total, 26 departments discovered 39 ideas, resulting in practical measures that can contribute to the revitalization of Beolnakji Street.

The county plans to review the agenda items reported at this forum and actively incorporate excellent ideas into the Namdo Food Street Premium Project plan for promotion.

Governor Kim San said, “We will provide administrative support so that the merchants' association can take the lead in cultivating and revitalizing Muan Beolnakji Street, which has been developed as a premium food street. We will do our best to actively promote it so that many tourists can visit our region.”
