According to the Committee on the 21st, during the field inspection, they heard vivid stories for one night and two days on site about the severity of fighter jet noise from the chairman of the Seosan Combat Airfield Noise Damage Countermeasures Committee.

The chairman of the Seosan Noise Damage Countermeasures Committee said, “Since the combat airfield was relocated, not only has the land price dropped, but there are no buyers for the land, and compensation for noise damage varies from house to house, causing conflicts among residents. It is important for residents to unite firmly and raise a single voice of opposition even before the combat airfield is relocated.”

At the meeting, Park Moon-jae, the Standing Co-Chairman, said, “Hearing about the noise damage and conflicts among residents caused by the relocation of the combat airfield has strengthened my determination to definitely stop the relocation.”

He added, “Based on what we learned from today’s lecture, the Committee and Resident Instructors will take one step further than before to deliver accurate information to the military and citizens, and we will do our best to prevent the relocation of the combat airfield.”

The Committee stated, “Going forward, the Committee members and Resident Instructors will share information with each other and listen to voices from the field to make greater efforts in promoting accurate awareness about the combat airfield relocation.”
