Hyundai Rotem Participates in Middle East's Largest Defense Exhibition... "Seeking Export Opportunities"

Multipurpose Unmanned Vehicles and K2 Tanks Product Showcase

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] Hyundai Rotem is participating in the largest defense exhibition in the Middle East to showcase locally customized products and explore export opportunities.

Hyundai Rotem announced on the 21st that it will participate in 'IDEX 2023,' held from the 20th (local time) to the 24th in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). IDEX is the largest international defense exhibition in the Middle East and Africa region, held biennially since 1993.

Hyundai Rotem will present a customized ground weapon system product lineup optimized for the Middle Eastern environment, including multipurpose unmanned vehicles and K2 tanks, considering local operability. They plan to conduct sales activities to respond to potential demand.

At this exhibition, Hyundai Rotem will unveil to the public for the first time a desert-colored Middle Eastern model of the multipurpose unmanned vehicle. This vehicle is the first domestically produced military unmanned vehicle introduced to our military last year. It is an advanced unmanned platform based on electric drive that can operate with various equipment installed.

Hyundai Rotem will also exhibit the Middle Eastern version of the K2 tank, designed for local operation, to proactively respond to potential tank demand in the Middle Eastern market. The Middle Eastern K2 tank is equipped with tracks made of special rubber material to operate even in extreme heat. The powerpack cooling performance has also been enhanced.

A Hyundai Rotem official said, “We will promote the K2 tank and multipurpose unmanned vehicles optimized for the Middle Eastern region and seek opportunities to expand the market,” adding, “Based on competitiveness recognized domestically and internationally, we will showcase the excellent capabilities and technologies of K-defense industry in the Middle East.”
