[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Fire Chief Joinjae Cho was appointed as the 20th Fire Chief of Gyeongsangnam-do Fire Headquarters on the 21st.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters, the new Fire Chief Cho is from Geoje and graduated from Geoje Haeseong High School before earning a master's degree from the Graduate School of Public Administration at Gyeongnam National University.
He entered public service in 1993 as the 7th class of fire officer candidates and has served as the head of Masan Fire Station in Gyeongnam, director of the Situation Room at the National Fire Agency, head of the 119 Life Safety Division at the National Fire Agency, fire chief of Ulsan Fire Headquarters, fire chief of Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters, head of the Northern Gyeonggi Fire and Disaster Headquarters, director of the Fire Policy Division at the National Fire Agency, and director of the Central 119 Rescue Headquarters.
Recently, he played an active role as part of the Republic of Korea emergency relief team at the disaster site in Turkey.
Chief Cho said, “I will always prioritize serving the residents with kindness and a spirit of service. If it is considered service for the residents, I will act immediately as a firefighter and do my best to create a safe Gyeongnam.”
