Minsaeng Party Gwangju Branch: "Conflict and Confrontation Situation... Both Ruling and Opposition Parties Must Take Responsibility"

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Minsaengdang Gwangju Metropolitan City Party stated that President Yoon Seok-yeol, both ruling and opposition parties, and all of our society must take responsibility and respond proactively to the current political situation, which is escalating into conflict and confrontation.

Park Dae-woo, chairman of the Minsaengdang Gwangju City Party, said, "South Korea has entered an unprecedented crisis phase," adding, "Issues such as the Ukraine war, the confrontation between the United States and China, and rapid interest rate hikes are structural problems that are difficult to resolve through our response alone."

He continued, "In such a urgent and precarious situation, internal conflicts in South Korea have exceeded dangerous levels," and argued, "It is time to ask the public's opinion on the political circles and some extremist groups that are provoking the crisis."

Chairman Park called for a decisive action from President Yoon Seok-yeol as a solution.

He stated, "Regarding the Cheongong controversy that arose during the presidential election process, the facts must be clarified clearly, and a statement promising reasonable future national governance should be issued to seek public understanding," adding, "Acknowledging the facts and showing a humble attitude is the best way to persuade the people."

He also expressed the position that the extremist acts of some groups are anti-democratic and anti-humanitarian behaviors that endanger the nation and its people.

Chairman Park criticized, "Acts of targeting the president and his spouse, who were elected through voting, are acts of terrorism against the nation and its people, and represent a horrific situation that violates humanity even before breaking the law."

He further pointed out, "The impeachment of the president advocated by some at this time is a hollow political slogan with neither justification nor persuasiveness regarding how it would help the nation and its people, and thus will never gain public support."

He added, "Historically, groups that fail to gain public support inevitably become social instability factors through a 'bullying phenomenon' with the cohesion of a minority, so urgent legal and social measures are necessary."
