At the International Defense Industry Exhibition held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, defense industry officials are visiting the LIG Nex1 booth and examining the surface-to-air guided missile products.
LIG Nex1 organized the exhibition hall into three zones?‘Air Defense, Anti-Ship & Ground, and Future Warfare’?tailored to the demand and environment of the Middle Eastern market. At this exhibition, it is introducing innovative PGM solutions, future battlefield, and unmanned products.
In the Air Defense Zone, products such as ‘Cheongung-II (M-SAM)’, Shingung, and Haegung are showcased. The Anti-Ship & Ground Zone features an experience zone where visitors can simulate the launch procedure of the ‘Hyeongung’ missile themselves.
Additionally, the Future Warfare Zone exhibits a variety of advanced product groups and related items covering modern and future battlefields, including drone-mounted air-to-ground guided missiles, small reconnaissance strike drones, and anti-drone systems.
For the first time at this exhibition, a small model of Hyundai Rotem’s unmanned vehicle HR-SHERPA (1/6 scale of actual size) equipped with a ‘Hyeongung’ launcher is displayed.
LIG Nex1 has designated the Middle East as a strategic export market and has continuously participated in defense exhibitions held in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and other countries centered around IDEX since 2009.
Through this exhibition, the company plans not only to discover new partners but also to strengthen relationships with existing export countries and establish itself as a leading representative of K-defense through joint project promotions.
IDEX is the largest international defense exhibition in the Middle East and Africa, held biennially in the UAE since 1993. This year, it is expected to attract high-ranking defense officials worldwide and over 1,300 defense companies from 67 countries. In Korea, 29 companies including LIG Nex1 will participate to showcase the products and technological capabilities of K-defense.
Kim Ji-chan, CEO of LIG Nex1, said, “From being a recipient of aid, South Korea has become a country that exports its own weapons based on world-class product competitiveness, and we have continuously strived to promote K-defense in the global market.”
CEO Kim added, “Through this exhibition, LIG Nex1 will solidify its status as a leading company promoting K-defense in the Middle East and strengthen its position as a global defense company.”
