Support for Nearby Area Event 'Punggeoje'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Air Force 1st Fighter Wing worked hard on civil support activities.
The 1st Fighter Wing announced on the 20th that it supported the Punggeoje festival, an event held by residents near the Miyeodo shooting range.
This activity was promoted to repay the local residents who showed trust and support for the Air Force in order to maintain smooth operational readiness at the Miyeodo shooting range.
The 1st Fighter Wing supported the local event, Punggeoje, and took time to listen to the difficulties of local residents and communicate with them.
Punggeoje is a ritual held on the first day of the second lunar month every year in coastal areas by the sea, praying for the peace of the village and a bountiful catch.
It is a significant event for fishing villages, and by supporting Punggeoje, the 1st Fighter Wing was able to further strengthen its bond with the local residents.
Lee Suhyun, a staff member of the Inspection and Safety Office of the 1st Fighter Wing, said, “Since we are close to the Miyeodo shooting range, we planned this activity to repay the residents who have been considerate of our training,” and added, “We will continue to strive to become a trusted 1st Fighter Wing through continuous strengthening of ties with the local community.”
