Dongmyung University Overseas Employment, President Takes the Lead in 'Sales'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Duyul] Jeon Ho-hwan, president of Dongmyung University, met with graduates and current students who have advanced overseas to understand their local adaptation status and sought advice to strengthen overseas employment.


Dongmyung University announced on the 20th that President Jeon Ho-hwan held a meeting on the 19th in Ho Chi Minh City with a total of 14 graduates and current students, including Vietnamese employees and trainees from the 2022 Youth Overseas Advancement University Project.


At the meeting, President Jeon discussed ways to further strengthen global employment by listening to opinions on organizing the Cheonghaejin (K-Move) training curriculum and deliberated on measures to increase local overseas employment rates.


The discussion included opinions on expanding practical customized training courses including email writing, strengthening human networks, and forming overseas alumni associations.

In addition, President Jeon completed schedules to activate cross-employment and exchange cooperation between the two countries, including a special lecture at Ho Chi Minh University of Transportation, MOA with Ho Chi Minh University of Technology, a global industry-academia-research sharing and cooperation agreement with KOCHAM of the Korean Central and Southern Vietnam Business Association, and an MOU with Ho Chi Minh University of Technology and Education. He is scheduled to return on the 23rd for the freshman orientation and entrance ceremony.


Dongmyung University achieved employment results of a total of 21 people in 2021 through the Cheonghaejin (K-Move) university project, which includes overseas employment education, placement, and follow-up management programs: 15 in the United States, 4 in Vietnam, and 2 in Japan. In 2022, a total of 29 students completed the main course as fourth-year trainees.


In January, the university ranked first among private universities in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions with over 1,000 graduates, achieving an official employment rate of 66.2% based on 2021 data announced by the Korea Educational Development Institute (KEDI).
