Dongmyeong University Strengthens Overseas Employment in the USA, Japan, and Vietnam

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dongmyung University is conducting various activities such as President Jeon Ho-hwan's sales visit to Vietnam and the local overseas employment challenge in Fukuoka to promote students' overseas employment.


President Jeon Ho-hwan recently visited Vietnam and carried out schedules to activate cross-employment and exchange cooperation between the two countries, including ▲visiting local companies employing Dongmyung University graduates to encourage them ▲special lecture at Ho Chi Minh University of Transport ▲MOA with Ho Chi Minh University of Technology ▲global industry-academia-research sharing and cooperation agreement with KOCHAM, the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Central and Southern Vietnam ▲MOU with Ho Chi Minh University of Technology and Education.


In addition, nine current students, including Kim Je-won, a junior in the Game Engineering Department at Dongmyung University, participated in an overseas employment challenge activity for 3 nights and 4 days until the 16th.


They visited CyberConnect2 (game development) and Fukuoka Rehabilitation Station (social welfare) in the Fukuoka area and experienced various activities such as interviews with HR managers and special lectures.


Moon Min-ju, a student in the Department of Architecture, said, "My dream of working overseas was vague, but after seeing and feeling it firsthand, I gained confidence."

Two teams of eight Dongmyung University students are earning credits through a "textbook-free vivid experience" in the heart of the United States from the 13th to the 25th.


This program is a newly established field experience course where students gain experience at local universities and companies and receive grades of P (Pass) or F (Fail) instead of the usual A~F grades.


Additionally, Dongmyung University has been implementing the Cheonghaejin (Youth Overseas Advancement) University project for several years, focusing on the United States, Japan, Vietnam, and other regions.


In January 6, the university ranked first among private universities in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions with over 1,000 graduates, achieving an official employment rate of 66.2% based on 2021 data announced by the Korea Educational Development Institute (KEDI).
