Application Submitted to Jurisdictional City/County/District Election Commission in the Province
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Gyeongnam Election Commission will accept candidate registration applications for the 3rd Nationwide Simultaneous Cooperative Association Head Election from the 21st to the 22nd of this month.
According to the Gyeongnam Election Commission, representatives of 170 cooperatives in the province will be elected in this cooperative head election, including 134 Nonghyup (Agricultural Cooperative) branches, 18 Suhyup (Fisheries Cooperative) branches, and 18 Forest Cooperatives.
In the previous 2nd Nationwide Simultaneous Cooperative Association Head Election, a total of 410 candidates registered for 172 cooperative head positions, showing an average competition rate of 2.3 to 1.
Candidate registration for the cooperative head election can be done at the election commission of the relevant city, county, or district in the province, and registered candidates can campaign from the next day, the 23rd, until the day before the election, March 7th.

Persons wishing to register as candidates for the cooperative head election must be members of the relevant cooperative and must not fall under any disqualifications for eligibility as stipulated by the Cooperative Act and the articles of incorporation of the relevant cooperative.
When applying for candidate registration, applicants must submit candidate registration documents and documents related to eligibility according to laws and articles of incorporation, and pay a deposit.
The deposit amount is determined by the articles of incorporation of the cooperative within the range of 5 million KRW to 10 million KRW.
Candidate registration applications are accepted daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the registration period, and candidate numbers will be decided by lottery after registration closes on the 22nd.
Any eligible voter in the cooperative head election can visit the designated viewing location set by the cooperative during the period determined by the cooperative from the 22nd to the 25th of this month to inspect the voter list.
If a voter recognizes omissions, errors, or ineligible voters listed in the voter list during the inspection period, they may file an objection orally or in writing to the relevant cooperative.
The voter list will be finalized on the 26th after inspection and objection procedures.
