[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] SNT Group's defense industry companies, SNT Motive and SNT Heavy Industries, are accelerating their global sales activities to expand exports in the Middle Eastern defense market.
SNT Motive, a global small-caliber firearms manufacturer, and SNT Heavy Industries, a manufacturer of mobility/firepower equipment, participated in the 'UAE IDEX 2023,' the largest defense exhibition in Middle Eastern countries, held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) from the 20th to the 24th.
At this exhibition, SNT Motive showcased various new small-caliber firearms, including the STC-16 special operations submachine gun and the K15 and K16 machine guns.
SNT Heavy Industries exhibited the 1500-horsepower tank transmission, which was contracted with T?rkiye in January, along with a 120mm self-propelled mortar.
SNT Motive's STC-16 special operations submachine gun is a rifle with improved accuracy and durability, developed with proprietary technology applying the global trend of 'modularization' in rifle development.
The K15 machine gun, recently introduced into our military, is integrated with day and night aiming devices to suppress area targets such as distant dense enemy units, enhancing accuracy, reliability, and operational convenience.
The K16 machine gun demonstrated the expandability of small-caliber firearms with various utilities, including crew type, infantry type, and coaxial type. In addition, pistols and sniper rifles were also showcased, earning high praise as a 'global full-lineup small-caliber firearms manufacturer' with excellent technological capabilities.
SNT Heavy Industries presented the 1500-horsepower automatic transmission for tanks, which was exported under a contract with T?rkiye in January.
SNT Heavy Industries' 1500-horsepower automatic transmission is the world's first automatic transmission with 6 forward gears and 3 reverse gears, completing the localization development of core technology components, enabling more active exports.
In particular, it demonstrated excellent performance in local applicability tests and evaluations in T?rkiye, attracting interest from overseas customers in the Middle East and Europe.
At this exhibition, SNT actively promoted and conducted sales activities regarding the technological capabilities and business potential of SNT Motive's 'K-series' small-caliber firearms and SNT Heavy Industries' 1500-horsepower transmissions and mobility/firepower equipment.
An SNT official stated, "With the technological strength of domestically produced weapons that have been steadily developed since the 1970s, we will present a vision to strengthen the defense capabilities of several countries beyond South Korea, increase export performance in the Middle Eastern defense market, and continue the momentum of 'K-Defense.'"
