[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Yong-tae, a candidate for the Supreme Council member of the People Power Party and part of the 'Lee Jun-seok faction,' criticized People Power Party officials who praised former Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Hae-young's harsh remarks toward the Democratic Party on the 20th, calling it "naeronambul (double standards: romance if I do it, adultery if others do it)."

On the same day, Kim posted on his social media, "Many, including our People Power Party leadership, are full of praise for former lawmaker Kim's harsh criticism of the Democratic Party. Why are those who are so noble so displeased with the harsh words from the reform faction within the People Power Party?"

Earlier that morning, Jeong Jin-seok, the emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, criticized the Democratic Party by quoting former lawmaker Kim's statement, "The Democratic Party will not collapse even without Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party leader." Kim, who belongs to the 'Bimyeong (Non-Myung) faction,' wrote on SNS on the 18th, "To turn the Democratic Party into 'Lee Jae-myung's bulletproof party,' (Lee) forced his candidacy for the Gyeyang-eul parliamentary seat and the party leadership election, but the entire party should not be dragged along by this intention. The Democratic Party seems to be caught in a collective delusion right now."

Kim Yong-tae praised harsh criticism within the Democratic Party but pointed out the double standards of the party in rejecting harsh criticism within the People Power Party. He is classified as part of the 'Lee Jun-seok faction' along with other candidates such as Cheon Ha-ram, Heo Eun-ah, and Lee Gi-in, and has been continuously criticizing the party mainstream, the Yoon core group (key associates of Yoon Seok-youl).

He said, "Is it romance when Kim Hae-young does it, but adultery when Kim Yong-tae does it?" and added, "Let's not disparage healthy self-reflective voices as internal bashing and repeat the hypocrisy and lack of communication of the Democratic Party that we have criticized so much."

Meanwhile, some within the Democratic Party have criticized former lawmaker Kim's remarks as 'self-destructive.' Kim Yong-min, a 'pro-Lee Jae-myung faction' Democratic Party lawmaker, indirectly criticized him on SNS, saying, "While failing to criticize the shameless Yoon Seok-youl government and the blatant interference in the People Power Party leadership election, the attitude of only criticizing within the Democratic Party is worse than that of children."
