Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Announces Call for Operators of Youth International Exchange Programs

The Ministry plans and operates youth international exchange projects annually to strengthen youth's global citizenship awareness. Due to the spread of COVID-19, the projects were conducted online for the past three years but will resume in-person from this year.

The application fields include Youth Overseas Volunteer Groups, Youth International Exchange Program Support Projects, and Youth Overseas Historical Experience Activities. Institutions wishing to participate can apply via email to the Korea Youth Activity Promotion Agency, the project’s main organizing institution.

The Youth Overseas Volunteer Group is a program where youth engage in volunteer activities overseas in areas such as education, health, environmental improvement, and facility repair, while also participating in cultural exchanges with local youth.

The Youth International Exchange Program Support Project operates activities themed on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including exchange activities between Korean youth and foreign youth residing in Korea (domestic type), and activities where Korean youth interact with local youth abroad (overseas type).

In the Youth Overseas Historical Experience Activities, youth explore historical sites abroad under the theme of "Korean Culture and History in the World."

The Ministry will hold an online project briefing session on the 21st to help institutions understand the projects, and detailed information about the project recruitment can be found on the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family or Korea Youth Activity Promotion Agency websites.

The final selection results will be announced in March through the Youth International Exchange Network website, and recruitment of participating youth will also be conducted on the same site starting in April.
