Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Operates Food Processing Technician Certification Course

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is operating the ‘2023 National Technical Qualification (Food Processing Technician) Acquisition Class’ course to help residents who wish to engage in agricultural food processing obtain professional certifications related to food processing.


The Food Processing Technician is a national technical qualification implemented by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea to cultivate professionals responsible for food manufacturing and processing tasks in the agricultural, livestock, and fisheries food processing industry by acquiring specialized knowledge in food chemistry, food hygiene, food processing, and processing equipment.

Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Operates Food Processing Technician Certification Course Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is operating the "2023 National Technical Qualification Certificate (Food Processing Technician) Acquisition Class" course.

The certification course will start on March 3 and run until June 2, held every Friday for 3 hours over 10 sessions at the Small Conference Room of the Eco-friendly Agriculture Research Institute and the Life Science Hall within the Agricultural Technology Center. The course consists of specialized food processing education including food chemistry, food hygiene, food processing, milk acidity and quality inspection, and tofu manufacturing.


Any resident aged 19 or older interested in agricultural product processing can apply, and those who pass the written exam can additionally apply for the practical training course.


The application period is from the 20th to the 27th on a first-come, first-served basis, and applications can be submitted in person to the Agricultural Food Distribution Division’s Food Administration Officer.


Seo Jong-rip, head of the Agricultural Food Distribution Division, said, “The Agricultural Technology Center provides education for obtaining national technical qualifications such as Food Processing Technician, Confectionery Technician, and Rice Cake Manufacturing Technician. We will continue to prepare various educational programs so that Goseong residents can acquire specialized knowledge in food processing and obtain professional certifications.”


Last year, the Goseong-gun Agricultural Technology Center operated the ‘National Technical Qualification (Food Processing Technician) Acquisition Class’ and achieved a high pass rate of 88.9%, with 16 people passing the final exam.
