At the signing ceremony held on the 17th at KT Gwanghwamun Building East, in-depth discussions were held on the implementation plan of Metaversity. The Metaversity at Jeonghwa Arts University will create an environment suitable for practical observation with a multi-screen function, considering the university’s strengths in beauty and arts fields. Business functions for university administrative tasks and large-scale events will also be provided.
Additionally, an academic management system based on an NFT platform will be newly introduced as the ‘Jeonghwa Certification System.’ The Jeonghwa Certification System is an education quality certification system that allows students to acquire practical skills required by industries through 300 hours of practical training annually outside regular class hours. Along with this, linked with the practical semester system, students can be deployed to the field one semester earlier than students from other universities, and NFT technology will be added to fundamentally prevent forgery and alteration of academic and career records.
Furthermore, the three parties will mutually cooperate to support the cultivation of talent in digital transformation fields such as immersive media and artificial intelligence (AI), contributing to the establishment of a regional information and communication technology (ICT) ecosystem.
Han Ki-jung, President of Jeonghwa Arts University, said, “We will closely cooperate with KT and Dotmill to contribute to leading Korea’s digital beauty industry.”
Jeong Hae-woon, CEO of Dotmill, stated, “Based on our experience leading the immersive media market including virtual reality and augmented reality (VR·AR) and digital theme parks, we will support the establishment of immersive learning and exhibition spaces and the training of immersive media specialists.”
Yoo Chang-gyu, Executive Director of KT, said, “The new K-beauty education platform, Metaversity, needs to be linked with learning resources in the beauty and arts fields, requiring solid metaverse-based technology. We will take a leading role in building Metaversity through mutual cooperation with Jeonghwa Arts University and Dotmill.”
