Scheduled for Completion in December Next Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Government Complex Management Headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 20th that it has commenced construction of the Changseong-dong Annex of the Government Seoul Office Building, a new building with a total floor area of 10,594㎡ spanning from basement level 1 to the 4th floor above ground, with a total project cost of 33.5 billion KRW, and plans to complete it by December next year.
The newly constructed Changseong-dong Annex will be established with seismic design applied to ensure a safe government office building, and will also offer various cultural programs.
The completion is scheduled for December next year, and it will be used as office space for government agencies currently renting buildings near Gwanghwamun (exclusive area of 15,579㎡).
So-yeon Jo, head of the Government Complex Management Headquarters at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, stated, “By applying the ‘Smart Workspace Utilization Project’ currently being promoted by the Government Complex Management Headquarters, we will innovate space utilization, improve work efficiency, and enhance working conditions for public officials,” adding, “It is expected to contribute to budget savings by reducing some of the leased area.”
She added, “Considering the characteristics of the location near Gyeongbokgung Palace, we will build a safe government office building that harmonizes with the surrounding scenery and manage it efficiently.”
