Recruitment of First 1002 Applicants from 20th to March 3rd
Incentives up to 100,000 KRW for Reduction Performance
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Pohang City will recruit 1002 participants on a first-come, first-served basis for the ‘Carbon Neutrality Points (Automobile)’ program for 12 days from the 20th to March 3rd.
The ‘Carbon Neutrality Points (Automobile)’ program rewards drivers who reduce their driving distance compared to the standard driving distance, contributing to greenhouse gas reduction, with incentives of up to 100,000 KRW in December based on the reduction performance.
The eligible participants are non-commercial passenger cars and vans registered in Pohang City with 12 seats or fewer, excluding eco-friendly vehicles (electric, hybrid, hydrogen cars, etc.).
To participate, applicants must sign up on the Carbon Neutrality Points (Automobile) website and apply. Two to three days after registration, participants receive a text message with a photo capture link (URL) sent to the entered mobile phone number, through which they must take and upload real-time photos of the vehicle’s dashboard and license plate to complete the final application.
Among participants, those who achieve a driving distance reduction rate of 40% or more or a reduction amount of 4,000 km or more will be entered into a draw to receive prizes. Detailed information can be found on the Carbon Neutrality Points (Automobile) website.
Shin Jeong-hyeok, Director of the Environmental Policy Division, said, “To achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, a culture of practical lifestyle habits must spread,” and added, “We ask citizens to actively participate in the Carbon Neutrality Points program and make walking or using public transportation for short distances a daily habit to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”
