On the afternoon of the 17th, Busan City appointed two experts in finance and artificial intelligence as policy advisors in the field of investment attraction and presented them with appointment certificates at the mayor's protocol office.


The two individuals appointed as policy advisors this time are Kwangsik Cho, auditor of Korea Investment Corporation, and Hanhee Baek, research fellow at IBM Watson Research Center.


Policy Advisor Kwangsik Cho is a financial expert who has worked at Bank of America and LG Investment & Securities and served as CEO of BNK Investment & Securities. He will be responsible for advising companies investing in Busan.

Policy Advisor Hanhee Baek is a quantum computing expert who earned doctoral degrees from the University of Maryland and Yale University, worked as a researcher, and was selected as a fellow member of the American Physical Society. He will mainly provide advice on global companies to be attracted to the Quantum Complex to be established in Haeundae.

Mayor Hyungjun Park stated, “Recently, the enthusiasm for investment attraction in Busan has been heated, centered on new industries. Having these two as advisors is like gaining a great reinforcement to further elevate this atmosphere.” He added, “To respond to digital transformation, we will work together as partners in city administration by pooling our heads to establish Busan’s investment attraction strategy based on the diverse experiences and expertise of these two advisors and exploring policy directions.”


The two advisors appointed on this day said, “The cultivation of new industry startups and the attraction of large-scale companies are linked to finance. We will contribute to strengthening the financial ecosystem and attracting global major companies related to the Quantum Complex.”


The ‘Busan City Policy Advisors’ is a city administration advisory body composed of experts and prominent figures from various social fields, responsible for advising and promoting not only their specialized areas but also the overall city administration.
