Ulsan Museum to Reflect Visitor Feedback
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The municipal museum has handed over the role of 'coordinator' to citizens in order to gather various suggestions regarding exhibitions.
The Ulsan Museum (Director Jo Gyu-seong) announced that from the 18th to March 5th, it will operate 'Wishes for the New Ulsan Museum Director' to listen to citizens' opinions.
Through this suggestion process, the Ulsan Museum plans to hear citizens' demands and expectations for the museum and devise ways to attract visitors back to the museum, whose numbers have decreased due to the spread of COVID-19.
The process will be conducted by freely attaching notes with opinions on a banner set up in the lobby on the first floor of the Ulsan Museum. Anyone visiting the museum can participate.
Operating under the theme 'I am a Ulsan Museum Citizen Coordinator,' it collects opinions and suggestions regarding museum operations such as exhibitions, education, and cultural events.
After the operation period ends, the compiled opinions will be published in the Ulsan Museum newsletter, 'Ulsan Museum News,' and among the participants, 10 people with good suggestions will be selected by lottery to receive souvenirs.
A Ulsan Museum official said, "We expect this event to actively collect the opinions of citizens, who are the owners of the Ulsan Museum, and to lead citizens' thoughts into reality."
The position of Ulsan Museum director was vacant for three months from October 2022, and Director Jo Gyu-seong was newly appointed in January this year.
