Jeongeup-si Invests 1.2 Billion Won to Improve Bus Stop Facilities

[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 17th that it will invest a total project cost of 1.2 billion KRW to replace or repair aging city bus stop facilities and carry out various facility improvement projects.


This project was promoted to provide a pleasant and clean transportation environment for citizens and tourists using public transportation in the new spring and to revitalize the use of public transportation.

The city plans to use 525 million KRW to replace or repair 35 aging city bus stops so that citizens can use safe and comfortable city bus stops.


In addition, 316 million KRW will be invested to expand the installation of 120 carbon cooling and heating benches so that people can wait for the bus warmly in winter and coolly in summer.


Especially this year, for the first time, 130 million KRW will be spent to install fans at 200 major bus stops so that not only bus users but also general citizens can stay cool and avoid the summer heat.


Along with this, bus stops polluted by snow, rain, exhaust fumes, and fine dust will be cleaned thoroughly, and maintenance of facilities such as glass will be carried out so that citizens can use comfortable bus stops.


Furthermore, bus signs will be replaced with sleek and highly visible designs, and windbreaks and LED lighting will be installed to enhance the convenience of citizens using public transportation and contribute to the revitalization of public transportation.


Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “We will do our best to solve residents’ inconveniences by expanding convenience facilities such as carbon cooling and heating benches and fans in bus stops, as well as maintaining the bus stop environment, and to create a safe transportation environment.”
