kt cs, Operating Profit of 24.3 Billion KRW Last Year...15.6% Increase

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] kt cs announced on the 17th that its operating profit on a consolidated basis last year increased by 15.6% to 24.3 billion KRW. Sales revenue rose 6.6% year-on-year to 1.0295 trillion KRW.

On a separate basis, sales revenue increased 7.8% year-on-year to 591.6 billion KRW, and operating profit during the same period grew 6.5% to 16.2 billion KRW.

kt cs explained that its strategy to expand AI (Artificial Intelligence)-centered contact business and brand-centered distribution business was effective. In particular, after declaring a "structural transformation into an AI specialized company" in 2021, aggressive investment and partnerships helped grow the AI contact center business. In fact, last year, contact center business sales grew to 140.5 billion KRW, a 36.4% increase compared to the previous year (103 billion KRW).

Another growth factor is the online distribution business. The company is actively strengthening competitiveness by expanding the scope of its existing telecommunications distribution business. Last year, telecommunications distribution business sales grew 13.2% to 156.6 billion KRW. The private brand (PB) achieved a remarkable 670% growth in sales within one year of its launch (600 million KRW in 2021 to 4 billion KRW in 2022).

Meanwhile, kt cs announced that it held a board meeting on the 16th and decided on a cash dividend of 120 KRW per share. The dividend yield is 5.15%, and the total dividend amount is 4.55 billion KRW.
