[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Pohang City announced on the 16th that a delegation from Seoul City visited Pohang to benchmark the Skywalk, a local tourist attraction.
On that day, the Seoul Metropolitan Government delegation visited the Skywalk, which is emerging as a new landmark nationwide beyond Pohang, to conduct benchmarking on on-site experience, facility construction process, and operational information.
The Skywalk, which opened in April last year and is currently in operation, is located near Yeonam Port coastal area, allowing visitors to experience the open and beautiful sea views of the East Coast. The floor is made of transparent glass material, providing a thrilling experience as if walking in the sky.
In particular, the marine walkway section boasts a total length of 463 meters, the longest in the country, attracting continuous visits from citizens and tourists.
According to Pohang City, along with the Skywalk, famous tourist spots such as Yeongildae Beach and Spacewalk are concentrated nearby, leading to constant benchmarking inquiries from other local governments. Recently, it has also gained much attention by frequently appearing on various broadcasting programs and popular YouTubers' channels.
A Seoul City official said, “Viewing the Skywalk, which harmonizes with the sea and captures a natural scenic beauty within the city, was very helpful in planning Seoul City's projects,” sharing their impressions of the visit.
