[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Air Busan is increasing flights on the Incheon-Fukuoka route, expanding the supply of routes departing from Incheon.
Air Busan announced that it plans to operate the Incheon-Fukuoka route, currently running 7 times a week, 13 times a week from the 16th of this month until the end of next month.
With this temporary increase, Air Busan's flights on Japan routes will operate more than 100 flights weekly, with 63 flights per week from Gimhae Airport and 41 flights per week from Incheon Airport.
The increased Incheon-Fukuoka flights depart Incheon International Airport at 3:50 PM and arrive at Fukuoka Airport at 5:25 PM. The return flights depart Fukuoka Airport at 6:15 PM and arrive at Incheon International Airport at 8:00 PM. Flights operate Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, excluding Friday.
This increase enhances the convenience of Air Busan's Incheon-Fukuoka route schedule, broadening travel options for passengers.
Air Busan began its first international scheduled flight from Incheon International Airport in November 2019 by launching the Incheon-China Ningbo route.
Although operations were temporarily suspended due to COVID-19, flights resumed in earnest from May last year, currently operating seven routes including Fukuoka, Osaka, Tokyo (Narita), Qingdao, Kota Kinabalu, Nha Trang, and Bangkok.
Air Busan recorded about 300,000 passengers at Incheon Airport last year alone, surpassing a cumulative total of 500,000 passengers at Incheon Airport. The average load factor on routes has also been steadily increasing, reaching the high 80% range last month.
An Air Busan official stated, “With the active expansion of routes departing from Incheon, more customers in the metropolitan area are experiencing Air Busan’s safety and service, increasing our market share. We will enhance brand awareness and secure loyal customers in the metropolitan market to accelerate growth and improve performance.”
