Seoul City Urban Planning Committee Approved Amendments on the 15th
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Onyu] The Nonhyeon-dong Hyeon Apartment in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, near Gangnam-gu Office Station on Subway Line 7, will be reconstructed into a new apartment complex with 905 households.
According to Seoul City on the 16th, the Urban Planning Committee held the previous day approved with modifications the reconstruction maintenance plan and designation of the maintenance area and landscape review for Nonhyeon-dong Hyeon Apartment.
Built in 1986, this apartment is adjacent to Gangnam-gu Office Station (Line 7, Suin-Bundang Line) and Eonju-ro. Through reconstruction, the 6 buildings with 548 households will be transformed into 10 buildings with 905 households (including 126 public housing units).
When deciding the maintenance plan, the city widened the roadway of Dosan-daero 50-gil and Eonju-ro 140-gil by 1 meter (from 6m to 7m) and removed resident-priority parking zones to facilitate smoother traffic in the surrounding area. Instead, an externally accessible parking lot was installed with a separate entrance within the apartment complex to help alleviate parking difficulties for residents of nearby low-rise residential areas.
Additionally, a 3-meter section of the building limit line within the complex was developed as a pedestrian space, and a pedestrian-only road (4m) was planned between the site and Hangaram Apartment to ensure safe passage for local residents.
Public open facilities such as a small library and an indoor children's playground (including a kids cafe) are planned around the central north-south ventilation axis of the complex to facilitate easy access for facility users. The community facilities are planned at approximately 270% of the Seoul city standard area to promote the formation of a local community.
A Seoul city official stated, "Once the reconstruction of Nonhyeon-dong Hyeon Apartment is completed, it is expected that not only the complex but also the surrounding residential environment will be greatly improved."
