Despite the difficulties in normal route operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Asiana Airlines helped approximately 240,000 people travel between the two countries over three years. Additionally, it operated a total of 62 charter flights for overseas Koreans, international students, and businesses to ensure continuous exchanges between Korea and China.
Asiana Airlines began its Seoul-Beijing and Seoul-Shanghai routes on December 22, 1994, and operated up to 31 routes to 24 cities in China. Since 2012, Asiana Airlines has conducted the "China-Beautiful Classroom" program, establishing sister school relationships with a total of 31 schools across various regions in China and carrying out social contribution activities for about 30,000 local students.
Going forward, Asiana Airlines plans to take the lead in normalizing Korea-China routes, marking the 30th anniversary of its service to China next year and the easing of entry restrictions between the two countries.
