[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) announced that the logo "My Pride, Our Jungnang" was finally selected to enhance the pride of Jungnang-gu residents.

The district conducted a public contest from December 5 to December 16 last year to raise the pride of Jungnang-gu residents and to improve the district’s image and realize effective district administration promotion through a logo that well represents Jungnang.

A total of 658 works were submitted, and after a residents' survey and expert evaluation, "My Pride, Our Jungnang" was selected as the final winning work.

The winning work gained additional significance as it ranked first in a preference survey participated by 11,088 residents, actively reflecting the opinions of the residents.

The selected logo concisely embodies the pride and dignity of the proud Jungnang-gu residents. After design development, it is expected to be widely used to promote Jungnang-gu through various sculptures and promotional materials.

In this contest, four runner-up works were also selected. The runner-ups are "I Love You, My Jungnang," "Falling for Jungnang," "Growing Attached to Jungnang," and "Adding Value to Jungnang."

Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Provides Special Heating Cost Support to All Daycare Centers in Gangseo-gu

Total 312 Daycare Centers, Total Support Fund of About 110 Million KRW

Heating Costs for 2 Months, 320,000 to 400,000 KRW, Differentiated by Facility Size

Seoul Gangseo-gu (Mayor Kim Tae-woo) announced on the 16th that it will provide special heating cost support to all daycare centers in the area, where economic burdens have increased due to soaring heating costs.

Daycare centers are facilities that require all-day heating for the health and safety of infants and toddlers, resulting in a heavy heating cost burden.

However, they were not included in the government's special support targets for energy-vulnerable groups and faced financial difficulties due to the surge in heating costs.

Accordingly, Gangseo-gu is investing about 110 million KRW of district funds to provide special heating cost support for two months, ranging from 320,000 to 400,000 KRW depending on the facility size, to all 312 daycare centers in the area, including 92 public daycare centers, 76 private daycare centers, and 134 home and workplace daycare centers.

The district has been supporting annual cooling and heating costs of 960,000 to 1.2 million KRW, but due to ongoing cold waves and rising heating costs, the operational burden on daycare centers has increased, leading to additional heating cost support.

Mayor Kim Tae-woo said, "The special additional heating cost support is expected to greatly help reduce the operational burden on daycare centers caused by soaring heating costs and create a safe childcare environment. We will carry out meticulous administration so that infants and toddlers can spend a warm winter and do our best to realize a child-friendly Gangseo."

The district is strengthening support for vulnerable groups affected by soaring heating costs by investing a budget of up to about 3.28 billion KRW, including district contingency funds, and swiftly providing 100,000 KRW in cash per household to 22,859 basic livelihood security households last month.
