Lotte Mart announced on the 16th that it will hold a discount event on various popular ready-to-eat foods until the 22nd.
First, the popular Chinese dish "Haemul Yangjangpi" will be sold at 15,800 KRW, discounted by 4,000 KRW from the original price of 19,800 KRW. "Haemul Yangjangpi" has sold about 30,000 units as of the 13th this year, ranking first in sales performance in the world cuisine category.
"Haemul Yangjangpi" is a signature product developed with the participation of Lotte Mart's FIC Team Leader and Chef Lee Jeonghee and Deli Development Team Leader Choi Gyo-uk, aiming to achieve the taste and quality of a professional Chinese restaurant. The dish features a special soy sauce and mustard sauce developed by a Chinese chef with over 15 years of hotel experience, combined with various seafood such as shrimp, squid, and sea cucumber strips, along with freshly prepared spicy pepper stir-fry in-store, delivering a taste close to authentic Yangjangpi. Additionally, the popular product "Gaengyeot Boneless Dakgangjeong (Large)," which sold over 700,000 packs last year, is offered at 13,800 KRW. The Gaengyeot sauce recipe improved by the FIC chef maintains a crispy texture even when cold.
Moreover, a new product "Samgyeop Dumppok Bibimbap" has been launched and is available for 5,480 KRW. Bibimbap lunch boxes are highly popular due to their reasonable price and convenience as a hearty meal. In particular, the three types of bibimbap lunch boxes released by Lotte Mart in September last year sold about 200,000 packs over approximately five months until January this year, and sales of Korean lunch boxes increased by about 20% compared to the same period last year. "Samgyeop Dumppok Bibimbap" consists of eight ingredients including pork belly and perilla leaves, using bibim rice mixed with onion seasoning oil and sesame oil to enhance umami flavor.
Jung Su-gyeong, MD of Lotte Mart's Deli Development Team, said, "As interest in Chinese alcohol such as Yeonmaek and Goryangju Highball has increased recently among the MZ generation, we planned this event to offer Haemul Yangjangpi, which pairs well with these drinks, at a reasonable price." She added, "We will continue to introduce products that combine reasonable prices with taste and quality to satisfy our customers."
