[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Me2on (CEO Son Changwook) announced on the 15th through a preliminary earnings report that it recorded consolidated sales of 111.9 billion KRW, operating profit of 26.8 billion KRW, and net profit of 18.2 billion KRW last year. Sales increased by 2.0% compared to the previous year, while operating profit and net profit decreased by 22.4% and 29.5%, respectively.
The company explained that despite the challenging environment, sales growth was achieved due to an increase in in-app game payment revenue, but operating profit declined compared to the previous period due to increased marketing expenses from new game launches and higher development costs from newly incorporated subsidiaries.
Me2on is aggressively planning new releases this year while continuously expanding new business through the development and partnerships of various NFT and P2E games based on the Me2on Group’s blockchain mainnet, in addition to social casino games.
In the first quarter, they plan to launch ‘X Heroes NFT War’ and ‘Miverse Games’. Following that, they will release various new titles within the year across different genres, including ‘NFT Hold’em’, which adds NFT elements to Me2on’s flagship game Full Pot Hold’em; casual games such as ‘Solitaire Dream Deco’ and ‘Restaurant Rescue’ (a restaurant management simulation) through Me2ozen; and the hardcore strategy shooting game ‘Rift Sweeper’.
Me2on’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Choi Wonseok stated, “In 2023, Me2on is considering multi-faceted business expansion to actively respond to the rapidly changing market,” adding, “We will continue to expand new businesses and investments to achieve external growth and take a step forward in the global gaming market.”
