Mokpo National University Holds In-Person Freshman Orientation for the First Time in 4 Years

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Mokpo National University (President Song Ha-cheol) is conducting orientation and preparatory college for freshmen over five days from the 13th to the 17th at the Dorim Campus area.

According to Mokpo National University on the 14th, the event, which had been held online due to COVID-19, was held on campus as the "Freshmen Learning Center (Saeteo)" for the first time in four years.

This event was held to foster pride and affection among freshmen as members of Mokpo National University and to help them adapt to school life through a general introduction to university life.

The orientation started with traditional Korean music and B-boy performances, followed by course registration and academic guidance, introductions to departments and faculty, meetings between seniors and juniors, and undergraduate major application, along with introductions to various activities related to the departments.

Additionally, students attending the orientation were provided with a "Welcome Kit" consisting of tips for wise university life and stationery kits, and a resting area was provided for parents visiting the school with their children to use during the event.

In particular, for students who could not attend the freshmen orientation, a course registration guidance video was posted on the school website, and the video can also be viewed on the Mokpo National University YouTube channel.

President Song Ha-cheol delivered a message of encouragement to the new students, saying, "I will actively support you so that you can enjoy a joyful and happy university life as Mokpo National University students and grow into wonderful members of society."

Meanwhile, to facilitate smooth participation in the freshmen orientation, shuttle buses operate in the Gwangju area (3 trips on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday / 4 trips on Wednesday and Thursday) and the Mokpo area (4 trips).
