Investigation on Charges of Obstruction of Business Execution and Obstruction of Official Duties
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] A former district mayor from the opposition party has been booked by the police on charges of causing a disturbance in a taxi and assaulting a police officer.
On the 13th, the Gangbuk Police Station in Seoul announced that they are investigating former district mayor Park Mo, affiliated with the Democratic Party of Korea, on charges including obstruction of business and obstruction of official duties.
Former District Mayor Park is accused of shouting and causing a disturbance inside a taxi last month in mid-month while returning home, after arguing with the taxi driver over the fare.
When the taxi driver took him to the police substation, Park reportedly shouted at the driver and assaulted the police officer who tried to intervene.
