[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Following the 'reconnaissance balloon,' the Chinese government denied any connection to the three additional unidentified flying objects shot down by the United States.
Wang Wenbin, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated this during a regular briefing on the 13th. When asked about the connection between the additional flying objects shot down by the U.S. and China, he said, "We have no knowledge of other unidentified flying objects," and added that irresponsible claims should not be made without clear evidence.
Spokesperson Wang described the U.S.'s successive shootdowns of flying objects as an "excessive reaction," listing past controversies related to U.S. espionage activities.
Earlier, on the 4th (local time), the U.S. shot down a reconnaissance balloon off the coast of South Carolina on the East Coast. Subsequently, on the 10th in Alaska, the 11th in Yukon, Canada, and the 12th over Lake Huron at the U.S.-Canada border, unidentified flying objects were shot down respectively.
