Infinite Transformation of Executive Meetings, 'Gyeongnam Provincial Government Proposal Plaza' Held

Every Second Monday of the Month, Employee Feedback Collection and Discussion

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The executive meeting at Gyeongnam Provincial Government has broken away from its traditional format.

Gyeongnam Province announced on the 13th that it will operate the second Monday of every month as the ‘Gyeongnam Provincial Government Proposal Square’ to gather employees' ideas.

Starting this year, the last Monday of every month is held as the ‘Citizen Meeting’ to collect opinions from residents.

Governor Park Wan-su held the Gyeongnam Provincial Government Proposal Square (GPS) in the provincial government meeting room on this day to listen to employees' voices.

According to the province, the English abbreviation of Proposal Square, GPS (GyeongnamProposalSquare), refers to a place where any employee can present opinions about provincial administration.

Like the GPS used in navigation, it carries the meaning of guiding the direction of provincial administration.

Sixteen people attended the meeting, ranging from grade 5 officials, who are middle managers, to grade 8 junior staff, who are new employees.

They gave presentations on topics such as policy proposals, improvements to existing work procedures, and the progress of provincial administration issues.

Proposals included turning the site of the Changnyeong Bugok Hawaii, closed in 2017, into a youth hotspot, developing marine tourism, linking youth preparing for independence with employment at social economy enterprises, introducing a drone video monitoring system, and creating a Safe Dream Village project.

Suggestions for work efficiency were also abundant, including expanding the specialist system, revitalizing smart work centers, and standardizing file management methods.

Governor Park said, “Leading provincial administration is not the work of the governor alone but of all employees,” adding, “If everyone approaches their work with the mindset of being the governor, our provincial administration will develop further and become more citizen-oriented.”
