[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KOTRA announced on the 14th that it operated a Korean Pavilion consisting of 14 companies in collaboration with the Korea Textile Importers & Exporters Association at the ‘2023 Italy Milan UNICA Spring Textile Exhibition’ held in Milan, Italy.
During the three-day exhibition held from January 31 to February 2, buyer attraction activities by the KOTRA Milan Trade Center led to visits to the Korean booths by global buyers, including luxury brands such as Loro Piana, Ermenegildo Zegna, Prada, and Armani. A total of 293 consultations took place at the booths.

Additionally, numerous on-site contracts were signed through this exhibition. Company A signed an on-site contract worth $10,000 for jacket fabrics with DLYNR, an Italian urban casual wear brand, while Company B proceeded with a $60,000 contract for long padding fabrics with M, a Greek clothing vendor. Furthermore, Company C, which manufactures Filagen, known as wearable collagen, achieved a significant result by signing an exclusive supply contract for collagen fabrics worth approximately $1 million over three years with a spinning company based in Nagoya, Japan.
Kim Hyun-chul, head of KOTRA’s Europe Regional Headquarters, stated, “Our textile industry is currently undergoing various changes, including the restructuring of overseas industrial value chains, so performing well at the UNICA exhibition, which is known for its high entry barriers, is a very valuable achievement.” He added, “During the UNICA Autumn Exhibition to be held in July this year, we plan to continue active market expansion by jointly promoting large-scale buyer attraction with the Korea Textile Importers & Exporters Association, as well as signing business agreements with local related organizations to expand the entry of domestic textile companies into the Italian premium market.”
