Changwon Special City-Supported Film 'Count' to Be Released on the 22nd

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 13th that "Count," selected in the feature film category of the "2020 Changwon City Film Industry Revitalization Support Project," will be released on the 22nd.


"Count" is a film starring Jin Seon-gyu, a recognized leading actor in Chungmuro, in his first solo lead role. The movie depicts the story of Park Si-heon, the gold medalist boxer at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, and the total production cost supported by Changwon City was 30 million KRW.

Filmed on location in Jinhae, "Count" features famous cherry blossom spots in Jinhae such as ▲ Gyeonghwa Station area ▲ Anmin Hill ▲ Haengam Village ▲ Tapsan Mountain as its backdrop, and it is expected to contribute to the revitalization of tourism for the "Jinhae Gunhangje Festival," held this year for the first time in four years.


Previously, in December, the independent film "Outside the Window is Winter," which portrays a winter romance of young men and women set in the small city of Jinhae, was released nationwide. "Outside the Window is Winter" was selected for the "2019 Changwon City Film Industry Revitalization Support Project" and was produced with 10 million KRW support from the city.


Jung Hyun-seop, Director of the Culture, Tourism, and Sports Bureau, said, "The consecutive release of two films set in the Changwon Jinhae area over the past two months has brought great vitality to Changwon City's film industry," adding, "This year, we will continue to build a foundation for creating new cultural content in connection with location shooting support."


Since 2012, the city has promoted the "Film Industry Revitalization Support Project" annually, selecting a total of 37 works including "Battle of Yeonpyeong" and "Operation Chromite," and has provided 1 billion KRW in support.
