"Where Did Yoo Ah-in Who Spoke His Mind Go? Fans Also Demand Explanation"

Controversy Over Habitual Propofol Use
"If No Suspicion, Detailed Explanation Is Required"

Fans of actor Yoo Ah-in, who was under investigation for habitual propofol use and also tested positive for marijuana, are demanding an explanation, asking, "Why are you remaining silent?"

Users of the online community DC Inside's 'Yoo Ah-in Gallery' stated on the 11th, "Longtime fans have been closely monitoring the ongoing suspicions surrounding Yoo Ah-in, but we have reached a point where we can no longer tolerate the situation and thus issue this statement."

They continued, "Despite having voiced candid opinions on various social issues and receiving widespread public support, why does he remain so silent regarding his own allegations?" and criticized, "Where has the 'human Um Hong-sik' (Yoo's real name), who showed his convictions and philosophy about his profession and life, disappeared to?"

The fans also referenced Yoo's past statements. The gallery noted, "In 2017, when suspicions about Yoo Ah-in's military service evasion arose, he openly expressed through his agency, 'I am well aware of the disillusionment felt by the people of South Korea who have witnessed ongoing cases of military service evasion by certain privileged groups and celebrities. It is absolutely unacceptable to enjoy more benefits, demand more rights and better treatment, while neglecting one's duties as a citizen.'"

They added, "Can Yoo Ah-in confidently say that he is keeping his own words now?" and emphasized, "If he has no shame regarding the allegations, we hope he immediately clarifies the situation in detail through an official statement and puts an end to the controversy."

Fans also expressed dissatisfaction with the investigation process. They questioned, "Even if Yoo Ah-in is a celebrity, is it appropriate for every detail of the investigation to be publicly disclosed through the media?" Gallery users claimed, "The investigation agencies, media, and public have been relentlessly bombarding Yoo Ah-in without pause."

Meanwhile, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit announced on the 9th that Yoo was booked and is under investigation for violations of the Narcotics Control Act and other charges. Previously, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety confirmed that Yoo had been prescribed propofol multiple times and referred the case to the police for investigation.

The police have conducted raids on several hospitals and clinics, including plastic surgery clinics in Gangnam-gu and Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and secured related medical records. Additionally, on the 5th, the police collected urine and hair samples from Yoo upon his arrival from the United States and sent them to the National Forensic Service for analysis. Yoo's urine tested positive for general marijuana, prompting the police to begin an investigation into his alleged marijuana use.

Meanwhile, Yoo Ah-in's agency, 'UAA,' stated on the 8th, "Yoo Ah-in is actively cooperating with all investigations and plans to thoroughly explain the problematic issues. We apologize for causing concern."
